Regulatory & sustainability commitments

UAE waste-management regulations
AlKhiidma operates in line with Federal Law No. 12 of 2018 on integrated waste management and the local waste regulations of each emirate (Tadweer in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Municipality, Bee'ah in Sharjah, etc.). Sellers are required to confirm their listing complies with these regulations at the point of publishing.
Hazardous & restricted materials
Listings for hazardous waste, medical waste, asbestos, radioactive material, or any waste stream that requires a licensed handler are not permitted on the open marketplace. Such streams should be coordinated directly with an authority-approved transporter.
ESG reporting alignment
The AlKhiidma ESG Dashboard reports tons diverted, estimated tCO₂e avoided, and category breakdowns in a format aligned with ISO 14001 and the UAE Net Zero 2050 framework. The CO₂ conversion factor used (0.48 tCO₂e per ton diverted) is a conservative composite of UAE waste-stream emission factors.
Data residency
Member and transaction data is stored in MongoDB Atlas regions within the EU and UAE. Listing photos are stored on Cloudinary CDN regions closest to UAE traffic. We do not transfer personal data outside these regions for processing.
Reporting a concern
If you suspect misuse of the platform, fraudulent listings, or a compliance issue, email compliance@khiidma.ae. We acknowledge reports within 2 business days.
